Apple has urged iPhone users to update their devices to iOS 18.6 as soon as possible to address a range of security vulnerabilities and stability issues. While the update does not introduce significant new features, it focuses primarily on fixing important bugs and enhancing device security. One of the key fixes targets a problem in the Photos app, where the AI-powered “memory movies” feature—allowing users to create emotive videos from selected photos—was sometimes failing to share content properly. Beyond this, iOS 18.6 includes over 20 patches for various bugs and security flaws, some of which could pose serious risks if left unaddressed. Security experts emphasize the importance of installing the update promptly. “iOS 18.6 contains fixes for over 20 bugs and vulnerabilities. Given that this update is smaller and largely focused on security enhancements, we recommend users update as quickly as possible,” said Josh Stein, VP of Strategy, Security at Jamf. Apple users are encouraged to install iOS 18.6 immediately to ensure their devices remain secure and stable.
